Grand challenges are more than ordinary research questions
or priorities, they are end results or outcomes that are global in scale; very
difficult to accomplish, yet offer hope of ultimately paving the way to a
successful future for humanity. Many people will point to the Covid19 pandemic
as the point at which society chooses between restoring the old order and
navigating a new landscape. So what grand challenges do we see ahead of us?
